Heading back home from a road trip to Portugal and France, we followed the suggestion of French friends and made a quick stop in Chartres, France, to see its Notre Dame Cathedral’s stained glasses.

We did see them, as you will see on another post shortly, but for now, I will leave you with the many faces that mostly draw my attention in the streets of Chartres, as there was nothing else exciting to see there, besides the church.

I shot the featured image with this man’s permission and a big smile.

Shortly after, I spotted this elegant lady strolling with perhaps her son, on her way to the cathedral.

This man evidently opted for reading the newspaper instead of going to the church, while sitting on its fences.

These looked like tourists who had most likely been in the church.

And while they were perhaps heading to the many restaurants around the area, these cooks and waiter, took a break. Instead, she fetched her baguette sandwich; oh, she might be a local!

They appreciate the architecture…not even noticing that “she loves Saturday”.
