Blissful Quiet Birds, Fog and Farm Fields

Foggy days depict serenity, and I crave for them when autumn sets in. It is peaceful and yet transient with the promise to reveal a brighter day after the fog dissipates.

Here is my submission of moments of blissful quiet to the WP weekly photo challenge, featuring the theme ‘Serene’, as proposed by editor @Ben Huberman.

The Netherlands endless flat landscapes offer many opportunities for this challenge, particularly at this time of the year.  I made these photos in Schiermonnikoog, a tiny island north the country, known as a birds’ sanctuary.

Here is a previous post from the island, and here is another one with images from Schiermonnikoog.

  1. These are both serene, Lucile. I also love a foggy day (unless I happen to have to drive that day and the fog is bad) and crave serenity as you do. That latter is the reason I love to walk in the park in the mornings and am happy when I don’t see anyone else. 🙂 Have a wonderful day and weekend.
