For this week’s photo challenge Ben Huberman proposed that we share our personal interpretation of something we appreciate despite or even because of its short shelf life.
I had a few ideas for photos that fit the challenge. Sometimes I catch a fleeting glimpse of a scene that feels just perfect and luckily I have my camera with me. These were taken in those moments.
I like coloured soap bubbles; invariably, when everyone stares at them in awe. There is some magic attracting children and adults to them. It is no magic though, as the colours will only appear with the interference of light reflecting off the front and back surfaces of the thin soap film. If light shines onto a bubble, it changes colour.
And how about a child waiting with anticipation for the final touch of her ice cream and then enjoying its delicious taste? I feel the same way.
Hope you enjoyed.
Loved the bubble photo. Innovative!

Very fun choices, Lucile. The girl with the ice cream looks almost reverent as she waits to dig in!

She was like in trance, while waiting and while eating it! LOL

Wow, these are perfect interpretations! Very original and very positive: when I think of temporal or fleeting, I think of death and decay rather than your lovely bubbles and ice cream, so I appreciate this perspective.

Even though you used other perspective to interpret temporal things, you also appreciated the opposite side of it. Life is made of both, isn’t it?

You’ve captured those soap bubbles beautifully! I’ve photographed many a soap bubble, but they have never looked that good. Professional quality. And the mood in that BW is exceptional! Wonderful contribution for the challenge.

Thank you, Lisa. Lucky shot; that’s all. Just there in the right moment, right light and right lens. I have also had other soap bubble’s pics that didn’t turn good at all.

The bubble picture is very realistic! Reminds me of plenty of summers attempting to make the largest size I could. Then as I grew older, I loved trying to make as many bubbles as possible.
I connected with the little girl waiting for her ice cream. You’re right; her expression captured is anticipating and eager. I love it!

I could never make a bubble like those! I’m glad you liked the photos and connected with the girl. I can imagine you’d have loved even more if you had met her. She’s adorable.

I don’t think I ever made a bubble that large, but it was the greatest experience getting them as large as possible!! And I probably would have!
