It’s Halloween time but in Europe, where the costumes, treats and parties are more commercially motivated than perhaps the original intent of this day.
I like pumpkins though, any time of the year. I bought some for soup and for the first time the seeds served a purpose, after being baked.
They also looked bright and beautiful for a macro shot. And as the WP Photo challenge is about rounded images, well, they fit well the assignment in colour and B&W.
WP Weekly Photo Challenge: Rounded according to my interpretation.
Lovely take on this – and we do not celebrate Halloween. Too commercial and not an old tradition here.

Love the photos and better yet, you have reminded me to bake some of these seeds this month. I love pumpkin seeds but am not a big Halloween fan, so sometimes I forget to go and get a pumpkin. You baked yours perfectly – wish I lived closer so I could come grab a handful!

I would be happy to share the seeds with you and could even offer you also soup, which was delicious.

Great image for the theme, Lucile, both sets look amazing! Don’t know if you saw it, but I took your challenge in my last post.

Thank you, Terri. I missed that. I thought you had not joined and as I didn’t blog for a few days, I didn’t see your posts. I’ll check it out.
Thanks!

People in the US are very into Halloween, but I’m don’t really care about it. It was more fun when the girls were little and if we could make treats it would be more fun. I like your choice of photography subject. 🙂

Janet, I associate Halloween with only the USA, and have never experienced it.
It feels like it became very commercially focused, so I understand your point.

I pity the poor pumpkin. Grown only for waste and to have its seed scooped out to make way for a candle!

Not in my house, Andrew. We don’t celebrate Halloween!

Great photos. I don’t celebrate Halloween either plus pumpkin is one of my favourite vegetables (fruits really). And the seeds are so good baked into granola!

How do you most like eating pumpkins? Soups? I’m crazy about it. The seeds are more Durk’s thing, plus soup. LOL

I most like pumpkin roasted. It’s very common for us to have roast beef with roasted potatoes and pumpkin. With a side of beans and carrots or something similar. I do love pumpkin soup as well. Pumpkin chips are also delicious.

Pumpkin soup sounds good right now (I’ve never made it, but I love soups). Who knew seeds were pretty?

You should try the soup, Sandi. It is my preferred. There are delicious recipes.
The seeds make for a good photo, isn’t it?
