We live in a hurry whilst everything else stands still.
We stop seeing what is before us.
We don’t feel what is inside us.
We miss the point. We misjudge. We err.
We are hurrying to nowhere.
Go winter. Says my Acer tree.
It is cold. It is dark. The tree hibernates calmly. Waits.
Waits till winter ends. Preserving and restoring.
Go winter. Says my Acer tree.
No run. No hurry.
It is going to be Spring again.
It always does.
I’m ready for spring now too, Lucile. I like the feeling of movement you caught in the photo, which goes well with your thoughts.

Janet, I guess we’re all looking forward to spring. Have you been enjoying your walks also during winter?

I have, but I’ve also begun walking on the treadmill at the health club. I get no photos, but I do get a good workout, regardless of weather.

That’s also great because you don’t depend on the weather to do your exercises.

Lucile, the combination resonates with me as the world seems to spin out of balance. Spring brings renewal and hope, especially (as you say in your poem) after winter.
