The man has had experiences and has stories that reasonable people wish had been kinder and could be rewritten. Journalistic photography well done and put to good use.

Lucille, the face tells so many known and unknown stories. He seems to have lived a hard life. Nicely captured.

Hi Sally, this is one of the human beings that I had the privilege to capture, and to expose all hardship that they may have gone through. I had a chat with him too, although he seemed numb both for the alcohol and the impotence of changing his life.
Very sad soul.

I hope his image doesn’t haunt you, Su. It’s a strong and sad image and one that I’m emotional about it.

Sometimes I think it’s ok to be haunted by something Lucile. And this is such a strong image, I want to keep thinking about it.

Then, it’s fine. I just was concerned about this image being too disturbing.

I thought at first that you wanted no comments. But now I see no comments are necessary! You’ve done it again. I don’t know how you get these photos? Exquisite shot…not, perhaps, an exquisite life? Is his shirt hanging on the line with those red silk thingys?

How can I live without comments? And specially without yours? And of course, his shirt was hanging right there!
This poor soul was drunk, homeless and abandoned. We had a chat initiated by him, and I asked his permission to shoot.

Oh, so terribly sad. How nice that you were able to chat for a moment – I hope it brightened his day a little.

Not so sure if our talk had any value to him. It’s very sad to see someone who lost or never had hope. He seemed numb, in a state of apathy and disbelief.
Nothing mattered, nothing could happen, nothing would change.
It’s a human being living like an abandoned animal in the streets, without dignity and respect. He’s invisible to the world; people passing by him didn’t even pay attention anymore, getting used to his miserable state.
At least he reacted to my conversation, but he surely gave me more than I did to him.
I’m sure he already forgot me but his image is forever imprinted in my memory, reminding me that we can do more good to each other in our societies. Just a click is not enough.
