The Imagecraft Bootcamp hosted by Mitch Zeissler simultaneously here and at his blog, gives us weekly challenges to up our game in photography.
Lats week he took us through Shadow Recovery in this post, where you can find all you need to know to recover your images.
I used these two original images to learn the process. I will first show the transformation of the first image:

And here is the same process for the second image:

What do you think?
Fascinating work, very well done… 🙂

The first images are great, but I’m amazed at how much they were transformed. Great job!

I was happy to learn new functions in Lightroom. It’s really amazing what it can do. Thanks!
Haven’t seen yours yet. Need to check!

Nothing from me yet. 😦 I need to get my external drive out and see if there are any photos that I could use. Not sure if I’ll be able to make it out to shoot a sunset/sunrise this week. Everything I have I’ve posted, I think.

I used archive photos. I couldn’t make one which would be useful with reflections. I didn’t bother to reuse.

Thank you, Julie. I had a tough time with this technique. First time wasn’t a walk in the park. So your comment means a lot! Xx

yes it was my first time with this technique, I love it………..it is so quick and easy, compared to how I was doing it (badly) before. But yes it did require a bit of work

I totally relate to that. It s much easier to use it to recover photos than what I have learnt so far, and once you learn the technique, it’s fabulous.

Andy, I almost gave up doing this one, as it wasn’t that easy. But I enjoyed learning this technique as it is excellent to rescue shadows. I have taken many more steps before and haven’t achieved the same.
Thank you so much for supporting me. I truly appreciate it.
