It has been an interesting experience to learn more about light with photos made without automatic setting using an iPhone.
I had mentioned in this post about ISO that I don’t normally make night photography. So, to get ready for Nalinki’s at Angles and Views, Available Light: On the Go challenge, I had to go to archive photos and look for photos where I hadn’t used the automatic settings, because I used an app on manual.
Here is what Nalinki has to say: “While using other cameras, we play around with settings and pre-set programs easily. On the smartphone, we often forget to turn off the auto settings. Do not underestimate the camera function of your phone, there are lots of settings that you can change. Increase the ISO to be more light-sensitive, use longer exposure times. You might even download some apps that allow you to better use your phone for night shots. If you need some ideas, which wheels to turn, you might like our “Start playing” entry.”
Inspired by her photos during sunset, as well as by the beautiful reflections, here is my gallery:
Nalinki, next time I will make some night photos!
Check her other posts on available light, as there is a lot you can learn to do, even if you use a smartphone camera .
Enjoy!
That first one is such a beauty, Lucile. 🙂
