Every week I have the great pleasure to make this post. I am grateful for all support given by submitting entries and /or visiting the blogs of the participants.
It is the best way to strengthen this community of photobloggers, while appreciating the world from their diverse angles and perspectives. The Photo Rehab is truly a great community to share photos, learn new techniques, discover new talents, and connect.
In December 2014, after completing the Photo101 course, I opened the Photo Rehab Event in this blog, a ‘healing clinic’, for all of us who love photography (hobbyists, amateurs, pro-shooters and enthusiasts) who missed the course and daily interaction with other photobloggers.
As you are reading this post, you know that the Photo Rehab hosts a weekly challenge – the Cover Makeover – hosted by Desley from Musings of a Frequent Flying Scientist and me as well as it also offers three monthly features:
- Tech of the Month: hosted by Perelincolors
- Available Light: hosted by Nalinki at Angles and Views
- Image Reboot: hosted by Desley at Musings of a Frequent Flying Scientist
What perhaps you haven’t heard of yet, is that Mitch Zeissler has accepted to host on a weekly basis, the Imagecraft Bootcamp at the Photo Rehab. What is it? Here is what Mitch has to say:
“Everything related to photography — composition, landscapes, people portraits, animal portraits, architecture, film, street photography, color, black and white, digital, gear, film processing, post-processing on the computer, whatever is of current interest in the photo media, etc. The list is endless. Think of it as being somewhat similar to the WordPress Photo 101 course, but a bit more advanced (actually quite a bit more) and with more meat to it — plus additional content that we plan to develop over time.”
If you are keen to keep learning from a pro like Mitch, and practice with his invaluable guidance, the Imagecraft is your choice. Check it out!
Now it’s wrap up time! The featured image is from Terri from Perspective on…
You will see this week’s latest pictures, but I encourage you to follow the links below to visit the blogs of all ‘patients’! Every photo has been linked to the blogs, so that you can see much more from their work. Don’t miss to visit them!
The stage is theirs!
Nalinki from Angles and Views come back with the Street Art Fire Show in Vienna.
Andy Townend Project 365 mobile is a way to see beyond and find different perspectives. That’s about discovering beauty in the mundane. And this is what Driving for long hours feels like. And he shares his take on Grid.
Cardinal from Artishorseshit, captured images of a German warship, while visiting Oslo, in fabulous monochrome.
Desley from Musings of a Frequent Flying Scientist shares a deceptive plant, as she lives in Brisbane, Australia, where these images were taken instead of in some wintry location in Europe or the US. I have coronated her the Queen of Macro and each week she brings mastery to us. Today was no exception with this grid.
Here is the gorgeous gallery from Mitch Zeissler from Exploratorius: Next stop: wrathful. The end of summer. Nearing the poof stage. Old Timey. Ever Green. Wall shadows.
Frances from Imaniking shares images of a place she loves.
Terri from Perspective on interprets the end of summer with images of her Chinese Maple tree with the September sunshine. She also brings the sculptures “The Joy of Running Together” by the artist David Govedare in honor of athletes with disabilities who compete in wheelchairs. A heartfelt gesture and great reminder that leisure connects us like nothing else.
Janet from This, That and The Other Thing managed to make a beautiful and surreal image that mimics a painting. She is sharing amazing legos with us.
Gun from Rantings of a Third Kind brings gorgeous images of September rains; September sunset; September moon.
Thank you everyone for all fabulous entries!
If you didn’t see your photos here, apologies. I used all links to my blog, tags on the reader or entries to InLinkz. Make sure to add them there next time and let me know if it didn’t work.

HOW TO JOIN THE PHOTO REHAB
Time: The Clinic is open 24 x 7
Camera: You can use any camera, from DSLR, mirrorless, compact, to smartphones.
Theme: Bring your creativity and photograph a theme of your liking in B&W or Color. With or without edition. We like learning techniques as well, if you want to share it with everyone.
Who can join: Anyone can join. All you need is passion. Passion to speak up through images – or words, if you may want to add your thoughts to it as well – showing what you see and how much that is important to you.
You can do a self-examination. If you detect any of the following symptoms, as carefully described by Albert from the blog Trigger Happy, come and join us: “Withdrawal symptoms may include the incessant need to carry your camera everywhere with you, the need to wake up in the wee hours to take photos during the golden hour, and checking up on others you met during the course to see what their newfound knowledge has brought fruit to.”
How does it work:
- Shoot a photo.
- Prepare your post and publish it. Remember to add a link/Pingback to or any of my posts and to use the tag #PhotoRehab or #Photo101Rehab, so that we can find your post in the WP reader.
- Alternatively you can also add your photo to the link provided below. In this way, you expose your photo to the other participants and to the overall audience of the Photo Rehab. This is the best way for your photos to be seen.
- Here is the link to add your photos. Knock the wall of the Clinic… and click on the image below:
Nice collection of photos. I do want to mention something I read in the original as well as above, and it concerns
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Araucaria_heterophylla
The Norfolk Pine is not really winter tolerant and is only grown in fairly mild climates, so it’s not really that much of a deception. I had one here in Colorado, but it was an indoor plant as it would never survive our winters, let alone farther North. I gave it away when it got too big for my home.

That’s excellent information. Desley should read that. I have seen one once in Brazil, in a semi arid country side, and now I know why they survived. Thank you!

I added the link to her comments, but did not specifically comment on the implied winter connection. I first came across those in Hawaii, and then Florida.

I guess most of us associate it with winter and really cold climate.
