Today’s challenge being nature, I will share with you some photos from one of my bike rides from Amsterdam going up north through farmland and some villages, and returning along the lake side (Ijmeer). It wasn’t a sunny day but the heavy clouds provided enough “drama” and contrasting photos.
Nature is all around. The scenery is composed of the typical Dutch black and white cows, some horses, goats, and of course many race bikers like us, and leisure bikers.
Hope you enjoy the ride with me.
Photos taken with an iPhone 6.
I am joining Lens and Pens by Sally, who hosts each Monday the Sally D’s Mobile Photography Challenge.
The schedule theme for this week’s challenge is: Nature
Love the scenery. It reminds me of cycling at the cottage in rural Ontario.

Thanks fro the virtual tour of your country’s natural landscapes. “Bikers Along the Water” gives us an idea of what you see from the path’s vantage point: layers of countryside. Happy Photo Challenge.

These are great! I particularly love the shot of the white horse. It kinda looks like he’s seen his reflection in the water and gone “hey, what’s that?” and it backing away. Fanciful I know! I also love the last shot; so much drama in the clouds. Have a great day. Cheers, Su.

Thanks much! I am happy to have introduced you to the Dutch country side. You cross the whole country and see the same very flat landscape, greenery and mostly cows and goats.
Still in your list?

Lovely photos. The clouds do add to the drama. I prefer cycling on overcast days as you don’t to worry about the sun shining in your eyes.

Thanks Rachel. I too like cloudy days to cycle as long as there isn’t much wind, which is never the case!

Lucile, what a gorgeous bike route you have! The green colors jumped from my phone screen and the cows and horses are such a serene sight…the clouds definitely add drama and depth but I hope the sun is out today: )

You’re right. The clouds add another dimension that would be missing in a clear blue sky. I love clouds. Hate rain. Are those longer shots shot in panoramic, or what? I miss green stuff growing. Not much of that here. You may be right about the Samsung also!

Yes, panoramic and you can do it from your phone too! I’d miss the greenery around me too. Do you have plants at home?

I used to have 99 plants in my house–a jungle. But now only 8 or so big ones. You can see (part of ) one of the ferns in my latest post.

Wow, that is a lot of plants! I have now 3 orchids inside the house and 9 outside in the terrace and it’s like caring for babies.
I just saw them and find them gorgeous!
