In the past months, I have received awards from bloggers of our community. I have mentioned that I have double feelings about it though. On the one hand I am humbled by the nomination for the kindness and generosity I receive. On the other hand, I don’t feel good to make a post to self promote me.
As done before, I go for breaking the rules.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to those who nominated me but instead of talking about me, I will talk about them.
First of all, thanks to meine Liebe sister-blogger Becky from Restart Urgently Needed, She has been awarded The Liebster Award, and extended the nomination to me as well. I have received this award in the past, and I was honored to get this again, and more importantly, from Becky. I call her my little sister and if she tells me through this award that I am most precious, what else can I wish for from a beloved sister?
If you still don’t know her, hurry up, and check her blog. She has an awe-inspiring blog, recounting her experience as a war survivor, and giving us daily lessons of humanity, resilience, determination, compassion and generosity.
But the icing on the cake is this: She has been recently freshly pressed and….She will publish a book very soon!
Let us all support her by following her blog and reading her book. In this complex and convoluted world we live in, it is necessary to spread stories like hers throughout the blogosphere. We can make it viral and inspire everyone who is touched by it.
Her words are worth reading for they remind us of our humanity, and call us to pay attention to what is happening around us, and to take action, no matter how big or small, to stop unfairness, violence, inequality and exploration in our small universes. Every action counts. Like a drop of water in the ocean.
Now it is time to thank my blogger friend Julia from My Red Page for awarding me the Premio Dardos and congratulate her for receiving the award.
What is the Premio Dardos Award?
Premio Dardos means “Prize Darts” in Spanish. It is given for recognition of cultural, ethical, literary, and personal values transmitted in the form of creative and original writing.
Well, I was truly overwhelmed by this award because when I put my blog into perspective with the meaning of the award, it felt like an undeserved award. Julia nominated some bloggers though, because she thinks that our blogs speak volumes about our passion for writing. Ok, granted, that I can accept.
How about Julia? Who is Julia? We met recently during the writing101 course. She is a new blogger who I very much appreciate and invite you to support. She is the girl who painted the town red, as she loved red!
But wait, there are other colors too. And I assure you, you will find a rainbow at her blog. When reading her posts, from fashion to cooking, and up to personal stories, you will feel her heartwarming and genuine presence. Julia is an incorrigible lover of love and that is good, because she puts her heart in everything she does. This is a rare (although innate human capacity) quality and people like that need to be praised, cloned, multiplied and sent to live everywhere in this world.
Wasn’t this post a perfect combination of two most marvelous women?
Now back to the awards….I should nominate other people too. But I warned you I would break the rules though…
I nominate the Liebster Award and the Premio Dardos to you, my followers! I have deserved such nominations, thanks to your relentless support and encouragement, which inspire me every day to learn more and become a better blogger. Thank you!
But you know that this was a bit too much when saying that you should make me viral :’D I will nominate you for a science fiction award next time LOL
No, honestly, I don’t see myself in all those compliments and promotion, but I do know that you do this because you really love me and if so, then this is kind of the best present I got since a long long time. ❤ You're the best sis in the whole wide universe, liebste Lucile ❤ ❤ Mwaaah!

That science fiction award I want to have! Lol
It’s ok that you don’t see yourself as I described, and that doesn’t make you any less deserving of my truthful words. Just accept that and also that I love you my little sister.
But did you need to make cry with your beautiful words? I now have mascara running down my face!
Thank you liebste Becky, you touched my heart and I’m grateful to the universe that our our paths have crossed. 😘😘😘😘

OmG you are now infected with the Trish- disease! (http://10yearsasinglemom.com) she’s also crying each time I say something. I feel as if my compliments come in form of freshly cut onions now.
I have 3 new mascaras, I can send you one if it’s my fault 🙂 ❤️

I like what you did here, Lucile! I am now following these two blogs, simply because you recommended them.
I think awards are nice, especially at the beginning of a blogger’s “career” because most of the awards are really about promotion of our blogs and others. I see a lot of bloggers whose pages say “Award Free Blog” and I agree with this concept. I also see a lot of these awards on people’s sidebars. At one point my sidebar was too cluttered with awards and challenge icons, I finally put them on their own page, then eventually moved them all to a gallery on the sidebar. Works best for my theme.
But congratulations for the well-deserved awards and thank you for shouting out two new blogs to follow!

Thank you Terri. I appreciate your support. It is important to promote the new bloggers like Julia as well as bloggers like Becky who bring an important message to the world.
I’m award free in my own way. They helped me get started and if I’m still awarded, I won’t refuse them because it’s not polite towards those who kindly thought of my blog, but I will talk about them instead. It’s a good compromise.
I like your idea of a gallery in the side bar. Thanks.
And thanks again for following them!
Cheers!

You’ve done a stellar job of accepting and spreading the joy. The bogging life can be singular or inclusive. I’m delighted that we have connected. You deserve the recognition. Mostly, I find that the acknowledgment that comes from readers is part of the reason to do the blogging journey. So, congratulations and keep on creating.
