If you have visited my blog before, you know that I shoot some photos of the environment and people I observe while waiting for the next train, the next flight, the next tram…This post is no exception.
The transience of a train station serves a magnet for stories. Stories and lives that I imagine, and try to immortalize in each shot I make. As all those fleeting moments pass through the lens of my camera, their stories speak of my wishes and fantasies for moments I still would like to live.

Photos taken at Amsterdam Amstel Station with an Iphone 5. Used monochrome filter and adjusted contrast and light.
I am joining Lens and Pens by Sally, who hosts each Monday the Phoneography and Non-SLR Digital Devices Photo Challenge.
The schedule theme for this week’s challenge is: Black and White
each of your collection serves as a separate narrative about commuting and street lie. Monochrome articulates the visual language of each shot. Happy Photo Challenge.

Each photo a story, and it’s wonderful to create stories in your mind about the people passing through.

Your excellent collection reminds me how much I enjoy people-watching in places like this. Observing, imagining stories, thinking of lives…such an enjoyable way to pass some time.

These are intriguing photos. It shows how different we all are. Some people are alone, some looking down, some in groups, some smiling. Most of them are moving forward but some are just sitting in place. Lovely lovely photos. X

You’re right…the station has changed! Just how many photos did you take that day? Or did you go back with your phone and without your camera?

This s Amsterdam Amstel, and not Central Station.
I shot around 20 photos. I didn’t have my camera with me, just the phone.

Oh. I’ve been to that station. Once. Don’t remember it at all. And this is why I have to buy a smartphone, which for some reason I keep delaying.

Why don’t you buy one online?

That is the plan. I’m just weak on the follow through. Plus, I don’t really want one. I need one for travel. And photos.

You can’t believe but I have a new phone. Long story…RIP old one!

See…this is yet another reason I hate you. You DO things. You buy a new phone when you need one.

You would too, if that’s the only one you had and you were going to travel the next day. You don’t really hate me! 😉

I DO NOT REALLY HATE YOU. I hate me for not being more like you. I hate that you are so good at doing what you do. And I love that you are you. I’m in awe and jealous. And I kinda do hate that.
Get this: I just bought a ticket to Amsterdam (June), then on to USA…but may change my mind about that!! This is who I am. So…maybe it’s meet up for a coffee, or maybe not!

I know you don’t hate me yet.
You are not good for my ego as you keep feeding it and I hate fat egos.
But somehow this feels different as you don’t know me as much as I do (obviously with distorted self perceptions), so your opinion on me has been very interesting and instructive. Maybe I should accept compliments and give me more credits. Thanks for that. Serious.
🙊🙈🙉 I know nothing about your travel plans!

I completely agree that train stations and airports lend to the creation of stories about where people are going or coming from and why… Your shots truly keep to this vibe! Fabulous!
