I have blogged at WP since September 2014. I was generously awarded by some wonderful people and that gesture always made the beginner-me feel privileged, and well taken care of by the more experienced bloggers. I have always posted about it, according to the mentioned ‘rules’. This time is different, as I have invented new rules. Here they are:
First rule: I am going to give back the generosity received. I will acknowledge beginners bloggers, whom my friend Carl from The Old Fellow Goes Running has nominated, so that we can give them a head start on the blogosphere. You will see some names here to check out. I totally trust his judgment.
Here Are 2 of Carl’s Nominees and his reasons to choose them:
“1. Rubber Hobos (49 Followers) At the end of 2010, Donna and her husband sold their home in Pennsylvania, bought an RV, and never looked back. This blog is about their journey, where they have been what they have been doing. The photography is beautiful.
2. Looking Closer (10 Followers) This is a very fitting name for this blog by Elizabeth, who has a beautiful sense of being in tune with nature. Living in an area surrounded by marshland containing lots of animal habitat, instead of keeping her photos, research, experiences and thoughts to herself, she offers to share them to us the reader. Thank you Elizabeth!”
Second rule: I am going to write a post not about me, but those who awarded me, and will introduce them to you. I was awarded a Versatile Blogger by three fellow bloggers. The first one is Restart Urgently Needed. The other two are: April ‘s Perspective and Author S.B. Mazing. I dedicated a separate post to each of them. This is the last one; I dedicate it to Author S.B Mazing.
This post is about a Swiss Blogger turned expat in Australia, where she lives with husband and kids.
I came to know her via her first blog A Mommas View. There she shares her thoughts about homeschooling, health and fitness, being an expat, kids and just life in general. It is her personal Lifestyle Blog! I have followed her blog since I started blogging at WP, when we meet at the Blogging University courses. I enjoy reading the varied themes and reflections she brings for discussion. Her blog feels like a cosy and welcoming living room. She shares the work of other bloggers, hosts many events, and remarkably cares about making that a good experience for everyone.
She started the new blog Author S.B.Mazing determined to fulfill her dream of becoming an author and publishing books. I respect her determination and dedication in pursuing her dreams, and invite you to join me in wishing her the best of luck. I am looking forward to reading her books. But please check her blogs too!
And who is she?
“I grew up in a little town all the way in the back of a small valley in the Swiss Alps. Luscious green in summer, snow covered in winter. It was usually a quiet place which turned into a busy ski resort during the winter month. I loved it. It offered you so much. You kind of got a piece of both worlds.
My dad was always around as he was much older and I loved spending time with him. He taught me a lot about nature and told us all kind of made up bedtime stories, which we loved. My mom was my best friend and supported me in almost every decision I made. She loved reading my little stories, the ones I started writing the moment I knew how to write. Sometimes I think she would have loved to write herself.
Today I am a mom of two myself and my kids and my husband are the most important part of my life. They complete me (if you can say that). My husband is my Soulmate and I am so glad we found each other. My family makes me a mother but also keeps that little girl inside of me alive and kicking.
I used to work in a job where I was writing. But it was not creative writing. I always loved it but I knew I wanted more from it, I needed more.
It took me a long time and a big move, from one side of the world to the other, to finally have the courage and start a blog (not this one) and write again. Write what I want to write about. And by doing that, I got the courage to finally sit down and start writing my Trilogy.
I guess like everything, it is a work in progress and you need to get to the point where you feel comfortable enough to jump into the unknown and just do it.
So here I am. I know that I am a writer as I am writing and everyone who writes is a writer in my eyes. Am I an Author yet? Maybe not. But I am close to it. Soon my books will be available and when the first one is ordered I will feel comfortable calling myself ‘Author’. And I am definitely a dreamer. You need to be a dreamer to be a writer or an author.
I am a writer, an author and a dreamer. I am a woman, a wife, a mother and yet still a little girl at heart. Living in a country I am not born in, speaking and writing in a language that was not my first…”
