This is #6 photo for the “The Clinic” – Photo101 Rehab. I made these photos early this morning, while watching a fierce storm subsiding, after having battered Amsterdam throughout the night with a wind-force 8 on the scale of Beaufort.
The 2nd photo reminded me of a mushroom cloud.
About the photos: It is a photo from an iPhone 5. I used iPhoto editor to add B&W effect.
And.. if you didn’t know yet what the Photo101 Rehab is, you still can do.
Once upon a time there was Photo101 course with daily assignments, which ended on November 30 and for that we miss it ever since.
Bloggers from all over the world connected as a strong community; sharing photos, chats and tips, and everyone added a special touch to the course, making it addictive.
Some of us, including me, didn’t want to say goodbye, and started feeling the first addiction’s symptoms, as described by inmate Albert nty6x at his blog Passionately Curious.
“Withdrawal symptoms may include the incessant need to carry your camera everywhere with you, the need to wake up in the wee hours to take photos during the golden hour, and checking up on others you met during the course to see what their newfound knowledge has brought fruit to.”
I had to think of something to resolve this.
Welcome to the Photo101 Rehab Center; especially dedicated to some confessed addicts: my fellow blogger and first ‘patient’ Andy Townend, as well as Mara Eastern, Cardinal Guzman, DesleyJane, Justine, Amy, Teresa, Albert, Terri, Giving Thought, Ellen, Nalinki, Mariangeles, DwayCrafts, and to all others not yet confessed photo101 addicts.
The Rehab rules are simple:
Opening time: Add your link from 04 to 31 December 2014.
Themes: You only need to choose a technique you want to explore or already master but want to share. It is a free theme but bring with it an explanation of the technique you used, as well as any editing effects, so we can all learn from each other.
Vote: If you want you can vote on the photos you like the most. At the last day (Dec 31) of the Photo Rehab you can vote on the top 10 and celebrate.
How to register: Create a post with your photo, and add it here by using the link below.
Have fun! And thanks for participating.

These. Are brilliant.
In the first the clouds are dramatic and the architecture points to the light source in the bottom right and in the second those raindrops transform the picture and make it edgier…

Whooow that’s a lot for a lousy quality photo from my iphone….but i accept that the scene is dramatic – just as the weather was; and that’s what made my capture the moment whith what I had at hand instead of going 3 floors down to grab the camera.
Thanks, Andy. Appreciate a lot to learn from you.

We all learn from each other. And as so often in life, its about timing, and when an opportunity for something special arises…not letting it go…

That’s stunning and makes me shiver as I hate storms. The second really got my attention with the raindrops x

Sorry; not as horrific. Drama-queen… Rains a lot in this country and I’m used to it. I shouldn’t complain much. The UK is facing a worser storm. Waves heights of up to 40ft (12m) battered the west coast of Scotland yesterday and there was one wave of 52ft (16m); the highest ever seen.

oh dont, seriously, scares me so much i dont even want to know how horrific it is goign to be. I got flooded once, whole sewage pipe burst IN the house, was horrendous, took two years to sort out,w asl ike the whole streets crap was in my house and that was after rain floods 😦 Mind you worse happens to many but bleh, hate it…crawls in to a cave and hides..please let me know when it is over yes? x

Lol. Still crawling? Because the storm is not over but worse. No more reports…ok?
What a distressing situation you have been through. And I’m here complaining about storms…silly.

Fantastic as always! They look like photos from a time gone by, because of the B&W… I agree the second photo is special too because of the raindrops seen on the window that give perspective…
Must have been some big storm indeed to produce these clouds!

The Photo101 sounds fantastic.
Would love to try another one when it comes out. My photography leaves much to be desired! 🙂
The clouds are so dramatic. I don’t own a Smart phone, it is amazing what photos you can take with it.
Thanks for sharing this! 🙂

Hi Carl,
Don’t we all think that our photos are not the most desired? Don’t worry and just click. That’s what you see and want to express that counts.
Even a camera from a mobile can do at minimum a reasonable photo.
Thanks for commenting. And I’m happy you liked it too.
