  1. Lovely pictures: the top one looks like a painting to me (and I prefer it slightly, but what do I know?). I’m impressed that you were able to capture this on your lunch break — and on an iPhone 4.

    1. Really? I didn’t think of it.I like the original very much too, and that is why I kept it there. Just tried to soften it a bit with some effects because the iphone doesn’t give me a sharp image. It is a just a phone! 😉
It was a play with the sunlight and the dark color of the water that produced this dark orange look.
      Thanks, Sandi.

      1. Strangely enough — or maybe not so strangely — a friend of my daughter’s was in Amsterdam today. Not surprisingly, she posted a photograph of herself in front of one of those lovely canals that show up in your picture. (She is studying in Northern Ireland for the semester and had a short break.) When I saw her picture, I thought, “I know someone in Amsterdam!” 🙂

  2. where my parents live is a lovely park. the park has a lovely pond, and that pond has some of the meanest geese i’ve ever met. they literally chase people away. your swans reminded me of those geese, but on friendlier days 😉

    1. There are many geese at some canals but the swans are generally sweethearts. I live in one of them and every single day I get a visit of some swans and their now-babies, trying to get food. There are many ducks and some really ‘angry’ birds. It’s a real fight with the birds if I throw some bread to the swans and ducks. I made some photos of the fight one day; just in case the swans want to sue the birds! 😉
