Is the Amtsel River where they get the beer?? 🙂

Hi Janet, the beer owes its name to the river. It is one of the brands of Heineken, but the brewing plant, which used to be in Amsterdam, is in another city, called Zoeterwoude. The plant was at the riverbank, and they used the ice from the river to control de temperature of the brewing process.

I figured the beer must have gotten its name from the river. I didn’t know about the ice but I knew a river of beer was only a fantasy. 🙂

But you were right; how could I have shot the bird if it hadn’t been still, drunk from the river?

The camera of 5s and 6 is the same, but am still using a 5, with no reason to change it, as it serves me perfectly well as a tel…
I found the 6 so big…what is your opinion?

The 6 felt so big but now I’m completely used to it… I thought I wouldn’t but after a few days, it was OK😃

I guessed you’d get used to it. I’ll wait till next year when my phone contract ends and I can get a new one!

I love the birds sitting on the sticks (“sticks” might not be the right word for theses), it’s a great catch!

Thanks, Mara! It looks like sticks anyway!

I love your photo, water is a source of peace and tranquility for me. The ‘sticks’ are called pilings…perhaps from a long ago dock or building. I read that the Royal Palace of Amsterdam was built on 13,659 wooden piles.

Thank you! We share the same feeling about water. I live in front of a canal and that’s so relaxing!
Thanks for the info on the palace!
