This afternoon I went for a bike ride to enjoy an unusual warm and sunny Autumn day.
I chose one of my preferred racing bike paths, starting in Amsterdam and heading north via Durgerdam, alongside the Ijmeer until Uitdam. From there I rode through the farmland – stopping only to make photos of the landscape – until I reached Broek in Waterland. I came back home still in time to watch the sunset at the Java Eiland in Amsterdam. I am ready for a good weekend.
It is lovely to travel with you through all this beauty. Thank you.

Great photos, and it looks like a lovely day for a bike ride. And that photo of the cows at Zuiderwoude! That’s my favourite.

Thanks, Wendy. I’m glad it was a lovely day; photos from an iPhone would have been much worse.
We have the same favorite photo. I made over 10 photos of them capturing the moves of the one standing; she wasn’t happy with my presence. I may have disturbed the aftermath of an argument!

I like the slide show. Very pretty place to go bike riding or even walking. I wondered is eiland the same as island.

Thanks. Indeed very pretty. And I was lucky as the weather changed this evening to what our usual autumn is: rainy and gray.
Yes, it is island. Some words in Dutch are very similar to English.

Thanks Andrea; sometimes am amazed with my iPhone camera as I use no filter. The sunlight helped though. It would have been great to ride along with you; my husband joins me often but this one I did alone.

I take all my photos on my iPhone too. It’s pretty amazing how far the technology has come. I use filters from time to time, but like you said, with that great sunlight you get beautiful pics! I think there’s something to be said for a solitary ride every once in a while. Company is nice, but alone time can be nicer 🙂

It’s indeed. I still keep – for sentimental reasons – an ‘oldie’ professional Nikon, lenses, and filters, acquired at the time I studied photography. Since digital tech came out and exponentially advanced, I am equally making photos on mobile and non-mobile cameras. There are good apps and pic editors as well, which I may use more often from now on, as am afraid that fall has officially started… bringing gray and rainy days!
You’re so right about solitary rides; and that’s when I make reflections and get also ideas for my work projects. In fact because most of my rides are solo, that’s why sometimes I wish I had company to share what am experiencing.

Maybe one day I will cross the pond and come ride with you 🙂

I wrote this ‘maybe’ promise down! This is a flat country, ideal for biking, and we have great tracks along the water or land. So, think about it! That would be great.

I’m so jealous! Not only has autumn hit us suddenly with chilly temperatures here, but my bike also has a broken spoke and I haven’t had the opportunity to get it fixed. Glad you had a good time and thank you for sharing.

So, you’re a biker too. Glad to know that; fix the spoke, and let’s share photos of our rides. Don’t be jealous, a chilly and rainy week has started…thanks for dropping by. I am happy to hear you liked the photos.
